SOLD IN PACKS OF SIX
(Lav. Angust. ‘Buena Vista’) Hgt. 18-24”
Buena Vista was created by Dr. Donald Roberts in 1998 from Premier Botanicals in Independence, Oregon. L. ang. ‘Sharon Roberts’ is a similar cultivar, also created by Dr. Roberts and named after his wife. This beautiful cultivar is impressive and unique because it is a continuous bloomer and can produce several harvests in a season. Landscapers love Buena Vista because it makes a colorful, fragrant hedge that becomes smothered in flowers that last all season. We have been known to harvest Buena Vista all the way through October after two or three previous bloom cycles. Buena Vista can be a slow grower, but once it becomes established, this hearty producer yields 10-12” flower stems, adorned with petite, deep purple flowers. The bloom habit appears a bit wavy, looking more informal than other English varieties. The foliage is light green in color and makes a beautiful landscape plant in any garden. Because it yields so many flowers in a season, bees tend to flock to Buena Vista, making it a dependable pollinator. Buena Vista begins blooming in late May to early June, depending on the location and weather. The flowers harvested from Buena Vista yield a variety of uses from crafts, fresh or dried bunches, dried buds for sachets and culinary recipes. We recommend spacing Buena Vista 30” apart.
